    What Is Adult Social Care?  

    Adult social care supports people aged 18 and over who made need additional support with their day to day life. It’s about helping people live safely, independently, and with dignity. This support can be provided in someone’s own home, in a care home, or out in the community. 

    Adult social care supports people with everyday tasks and quality of life.    This might include:  

    • Helping someone get washed and dressed  
      • Preparing meals or supporting with eating  
        • Assisting with medication  
          • Providing companionship and emotional support  
            • Supporting people who live with physical or learning disabilities, dementia, or mental health needs  
              • Helping people stay active and connected to their community
